News: SONTA Award Members

            Hard work and dedication beget recognition has been a tradition of Society of  Nigerian Theatre Artists (SONTA).

This tradition goes with the saying a gold fish has no hiding place. In line with this development the Society conferred on of its members with the award of the fellow of SONTA and the life time achievement award which are all to encourage and acknowledge the excellent and outstanding contributions to the development and progress of the society.

First to receive the award is the indefatiquable president of SONTA Prof Emmanuel Samu Dandaura who is conferred with the follow of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists.

Also conferred with the status of fellow of SONTA award is the Dean faculty of Arts University of Jos, professor John Ila

The second ctaterory of SONTA award is the life achievement award which was conferred on members whose comittement and diligence fetched them the accolade and recognition.

                Professor Henry Leopose  Belgam, HOD of  Music from the University of  Port Harcourt, Prof. Charity Aga a Lecturer from the Benue State University and late Professor Lukas T. Bentu a professor of fine Arts from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria who received in proxy by Dr, Christopher O. Iyimoga from Nasarawa State University.

                The awardees who were tilled with joy and exhilaration could not hide their joy first to react is the presidents of SONTA Prof. E.S. Dandaura.

Professor John Ila Dean faculty of arts University of Jos say “ I feel very happy and fulfilled we have been in serveal activities in national and state level but this is the best award you can get because it is in recognistion of you pears”

Professor Henry Leopold Belt- Gam HOD of music form beron University, Portharcourt “I feel gret receiving an award from SONTA, I am so grateful to SONTA for recognizing me”

Professor Charity Angya from Benue State University “I feel this distinguish Association called SONTA”.

                Dr. Christopher Iyimoga who received the award on behalf of late Professor Luker Danurus said “ I took this award on behalf of someone else late professor Luker danurus an accomplished artist who died about 14 years ago he was a profesosor of arts in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria”

Recognition for service per excellence has become a traditional for SONTA for the promp=motion of hard work, dedication and development to selfless service to the SONTA society of and humanity in general.
