CALL FOR NOMINATION FOR SONTA FELLOWSHIP 2023

Criteria for admission as a fellow of SONTA

1. A candidate for consideration for Fellowship of SONTA (fsonta) must be a trained theatre/media arts professional and has had not less than fifteen (15) years of which must have been in position of managerial responsibility;
2. To qualify for nomination, such a candidate must have been a professor for at least seven (7) years;
3. He/she must have a track record in research, publication or outstanding contribution as theatre/media arts professional. His/her professional activities and achievements shall justify acceptance as an authority in his/her field;
4. The candidate should be a paid-up member of SONTA;
5. A nomination package must include copies of the candidate’s current CV, clearly indicating his/her academic field and full bibliographical details of his/her publications and/or professional practice. The package is to be forwarded to the Secretary SONTA Fellowship Screening Committee on or before the submission deadline advertised. Ten (10) hard copies and an electronic version on CD ROM are required to be submitted to: Prof Mabel Evwierhoma, O. Box 7968, Wuse Post Office, Abuja FCT, Email: mabtobrhoma2002@yahoo.com;
6. A candidate being nominated must include a Personal Statement on his or her contributions to the performing/theatre/media arts;
7. A candidate must be duly sponsored or nominated by two financially up to date SONTA Fellows, with one proposing and the other seconding. Nominee and nominators are to provide their SONTA membership numbers in all documentations;
8. A SONTA Fellow shall not nominate and/or second more than ONE candidate in each season of nomination exercise;
9. No more than three (3) candidates in any one year shall be admitted into the college of Fellows/SONTA council
10.  Self nomination is not acceptable ;
11. A sitting SONTA President, SONTA Council Chairperson or Screening Committee member cannot nominate/second applications; and
12. The investiture of successful candidates shall be at the 2023 Annual Convention of the Society.

Submission Deadline: 31^st May, 2023. Nominations shall NOT be accepted after this date.
