Adediran Kayode ADEMIJU-BEPO PhD is currently a Professor of Theatre and Film Studies at the University of Jos, where he teaches and researches.
He has been on the Faculty of the National Film Institute, Jos, Nigeria as one of the longest-serving External Resource Persons for almost two decades. He recently served on the Jury of Zuma International Film Festival [2018], Abuja, Nigeria.
He is also an author, editor, director, and award-winning playwright whose last published play, No More the Taming Hawks [2018], was one of the Longlisted 11 books for the NLNG-sponsored Nigerian Prize for Literature the same year.
His latest play, “Pulse of the Springs”, which won the Second Prize in the SONTA-Olu Obafemi Playwriting Competition in 2018, is currently in press, sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund.
He is widely published in remarkable international and national journals and books and serves as an Editorial Consultant to some. His hobbies include publishing, writing, stage and screen productions, and project consultancy, among others.
He was elected as the Vice President (Programmes and Projects) of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists, (SONTA) during the 2021 Annual International Conference/AGM at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, AE-FUNAI, Ebonyi state in December 2021. He is currently the Head, Department of Theatre and Film Arts, University of Jos.
